2 month check up

Grayson had his 2 month check up today except he's not exactly 2 months yet so it didn't go as planned. He was supposed to have his shots but since he's 4 days away from being 2 months they couldn't do it. Apparently those 4 days make a big difference, especially when Grayson goes to school and they see that they were done too early. That being said, next week Weston and Grayson will both be getting shots. Weston for his 15 month and Gray for his 2 month.

The doctor still checked up on Grayson while we were there. He is a whopping 14 pounds already which puts him in the 97th percentile for weight. He's also 2 feet long putting him the 90th percentile for height. The doctor said he's doing very well with muscle control and everything. He was pretty impressed that nursing alone was meeting Grayson's caloric needs since he is so big. That makes you feel so good as a mother (even though there's not really much you can do to make "good" or "bad" milk). With Weston I never made enough and I prayed that it would be different this time and it seems to be that way! That's really all we found out today. I'm not really looking forward to next week when I'll have 2 screaming boys but I'll have to suck it up. :)

Week 13: 365

Week 13!!!
September 19, 2009: After weeks of trying, Grayson finally took a pacifier (or Ninni as we call them in the Ferrante household)! Of course he only wants the ugly ones they give you at the hospital. Luckily, Carroll Hospital sells the Gumdrop ones like this that are orange and a little cuter. :)

September 20, 2009: Weston doesn't really like to take naps in church because of all the excitement but when he's tired, he'll pretty much sleep anywhere. Clarissa texted me this picture of him sleeping. How cute! :)

September 21, 2009: Grayson is growing up so fast. I can't believe he's nearly 2 months old already and look how strong my boy is! He's really been pushing up on his arms lateley and finally, (after like a milllion fails) I got a picture of him at his highest point!

September 22, 2009: Kristin came over to take pictures of the boys for me. I tried to get them to sit next to each other all night and Weston refused to sit still. Of course after Kristin left he wanted to lay right next to his brother...almost on top of him really. I got a few good shots but this one is hilarious! Poor Gray. :)
September 23, 2009: A lady at our church gave us a potty for Weston. I am by no means expecting him to potty train just yet but I thought it couldn't hurt to introduce him to the idea. He had fun sitting on the potty...and then he had fun taking all the pieces apart!

September 24, 2009: Unfortunately we weren't able to do too many outside activities over the summer because I was SO pregnant and it was SO hot I couldn't handle it. Now that the pregnancy and the extreme heat is over, I love taking the boys outside. Weston just loves to explore things. We chased this grasshopper all around and it finally landed on Mike's jeans. Weston almost got a hold of it but at the last minute it hopped away. Lucky grasshopper.

September 25, 2009: I had to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled on this day so my sister-in-law Meredith babysat Weston for us. She took him up to her sister's in Hanover, PA to play with her other nephew and niece. Here is Weston and Bryce. Not sure why Weston is naked but I think maybe he had spaghetti for lunch.

Week 12: 365

September 12, 2009: After driving to Columbia to make a Build-A-Bear, we accidentally left the bear in Borders. After about an hour, we realized it was missing so we turned around (we were already headed home) and it was still sitting by the kids books! Here we are naming the bear. Weston named it She-She. :)

September 13, 2009: Mike's grandmother and grandfather live in Waynesboro, PA. We took a trip up there after church for lunch. Here is Hon holding Grayson for the first time. She was so excited to finally meet her second great-grandson. And lunch was awesome of course!

September 14, 2009: My sister-in-law Meredith came over to visit and get her house key back. She and my brother just moved into our neighborhood! I'm so excited to have them so close to us!

September 15, 2009: I had a dentist appointment on this day and since Mike was in Atlanta, we had our friends, The Dubyoski's, watch Weston. Tina took him up and down her driveway (it's a looooong driveway) 3 times in this wagon! I'm sure she's used to the exercise since she has 7 kids of her own!

September 16, 2009: Our second play date with Molly! This time we drew on the sidewalk with sidewalk chalk. The kids had so much fun and got so worn out that Molly ended up falling asleep in her highchair during lunch!

September 17, 2009: Our trip to Chuck-E-Cheese got canceled since Brooke was sick :(. So Weston and I did the next best thing...we went to Chick-fil-a! Haha. The cow was there (our friend Nick from church) and as predicted, Weston did NOT like him. We had fun in the play area after eating though!

September 18, 2009: Today was my first day back at Read and Play. I was worried how Grayson would do but he was such a good boy! He loves tummy time and was really lifting his head and shoulders off the ground! I love this picture because you can see big brother Weston in the background playing!

Week 11: 365

September 5, 2009: This is probably my favorite picture of Weston to date. We were at my cousin's baby shower and he decided to stand up on the chair. I started tilting it pretending like the chair would fall over. My little dare-devil was absolutely thrilled by this!

September 6, 2009: I filled in for someone in nursery on this day. You can see I probably wasn't too much help as both of my own children ended up asleep on my lap. They are so precious. (Nevermind that my hair looks huge!!!)

September 7, 2009: At Pastor Dave's surprise birthday party Weston had a lot of fun playing with the tissue paper from the presents. It's good to get ideas for Christmas presents...haha.

September 8, 2009: Just a relaxing day at home as most are these days since Grayson absolutely hates the car. However, here is peaceful and holding my thumb (sort of). It'll be nice to look back on this and remember how teeny tiny those hands were. :)

September 9, 2009: Another Christmas present idea....for some reason Weston prefers to play with the toy bin at church rather than the actual toys. He's so little he actually fit in this bin! He never ceases to crack me up.

September 10, 2009: Grayson really enjoys tummy time, something Weston absolutely abhorred! I love getting down on the floor close to him and talking with him about his day. He's starting to lift his pretty well (not that you can tell from this picture).

September 11, 2009: Weston's hair is thick it is usually sticking up in all different direction in the morning or after his nap. I've been using a spray bottle to get it to lay down. Before going to Read and Play this week, Weston tried to spray his hair all by himself after I did it for him. He also tries to brush his own hair.

Week 10:365

August 29, 2009: After a wonderful BBQ for the praise/media team at church, Mike's mom came over to hang out with the boys. Weston was jealous that his Nanna was holding Grayson so he had to get up there too!

August 30, 2009: Another Sunday afternoon just relaxing around the house. My chunky boy seems to be able to relax in just about any position.

August 31, 2009: Weston loves to dance! Monday night I found the Get It Shawty video on Youtube and Weston got down! This is his signature move which we call "The Conductor".

September 1, 2009: After a morning at the doctor's (Grayson has an eye condition called Blepharitis which is a fancy word for excessive eye boogers. Hehe.) we spent some time working on hand-eye coordination with the rattle. I tried to get Grayson to hold it by himself...he only kept hold of it for about 3 seconds but long enough to get this picture!

September 2, 2009: A Wednesday morning lounging around. Here's all three of my babies. I don't get to photo Ginger too often but she was posing pretty good here, looking all dominant over her brothers.

September 3, 2009: Our friends Abby and Molly came over and we finger painted! Weston and Molly painted themselves just as much as the paper I think!

September 4, 2009: I'm so happy that Grayson enjoys bath time! It's one of the only things he and his brother have in common. I was sure he would hate it and that I would dread our night time routine but I was wrong! Looks like I'm in for many nice and relaxing nights with my boys! :)

Week 9: 365

August 22, 2009: Our first full day in Luray and it was raining pretty much all day. Weston's never really been out in the rain, so I took advantage of the wetness and we played on the porch. Weston had a lot of fun dancing and stomping in the little puddles of water on MomMom and Pops porch.

August 23, 2009: We hit the Luray Zoo on Sunday. This zoo is seriously the size of my pinkie but it's perfect for little kids because there's not much walking and there's lots of fun animals. When we were in the reptile house, Weston kept trying to grab the snakes through the glass-so when we went to the snake show, of course I had to let him hold the rat snake. This snake was so well behaved, especially since Weston was trying to pick his scales off!

August 24, 2009: MomMom and Pop have a cool fire pit in their backyard so Monday night, we had s'mores. Weston mostly enjoyed eating the chocolate all by itself but I tried to help him roast a marshmallow.
August 25, 2009: On Tuesday, we made our way back home and met Mike at Arundel Mills. Weston missed his Daddy so much! Look at that big ol' smile! :)

August 26, 2009: I guess the whole Luray trip wiped Weston out because on Wednesday he was ready for an early nap and fell asleep right on the living room floor while I was feeding Grayson. It was too precious not to photograph. :)

August 27, 2009: I figured it was time to break out the double stroller and start family evening walks (since I want to lose 50 lbs and all!). Here is Weston and Grayson and Super Mike all ready to tour the neighborhood! Grayson slept the whole time and Weston enjoyed relaxing and watching all the kids we passed on our walk.

August 28, 2009: We try to take Weston to the library every Friday for Read and Play. He really enjoys the songs and stories and playtime with the other children. Since I've been at home with Grayson for the past 4 weeks, Mike has been taking him alone but I can't wait to take both the boys!

Week 8: 365

August 15, 2009: Mike's family came to visit the newest addition to our family. His brother and soon to be sister-in-law live in New England so it was great to see them! Here is Aunt Dena (soon!) and Grayson chilling out on the couch. This was also right before Grayson's cord fell off! In the background is Moonpea (Aunt Rose).

August 16, 2009: I love Weston's temper tantrums! He's just too cute! These days they are getting more and more serious. I believe this tantrum had to do with the fact that I told him he couldn't pull the wipes out of the container. Very upsetting... :)

August 17, 2009: Grayson had his first doctor's appointment on this day. He was 2 weeks and 2 days old. We found out that this big boy had gained over 2 pounds in his first 2 weeks and that he's pretty perfect! (But we knew that of course...haha ;)

August 18, 2009: Since Weston has taken to using a fork, I decided he needed some real big boy utensils and plates! Here he is using his new plate and fork like a pro!

August 19, 2009: Talk about parallel play! Weston and Quinton were having so much fun Wednesday night playing with Mr. Potato Head. Quinton is only 2 1/2 months older than Weston so I really am enjoying watching them grow and play (sort of) together. Quinton also really likes to sit on Weston. I'll try to capture that soon!

August 20, 2009: Since Weston was doing so well with his fork, I thought we'd give his spoon a try! It went alright but was extremely messy trying to eat yogurt with his spoon for the first time. I was pretty amazed that some of it actually made it to his mouth!

August 21, 2009: This was the day we left for Luray, Virginia to go visit MomMom and Pop in their new house in the mountains. Weston is really enjoying his new snack cups. So much, in fact, that he had to have both of them and ended up getting his hands stuck in them. It was extremely funny! He didn't think so after a while so I had to help him get free.
