New Doctor

I had my first appointment with my new doctor today. We recently had to switch to Kaiser so I had no choice but to leave the doctors that I love and find a new one. Dr. Kimberly Bernard is my new doctor. She's nice enough. I'll be delivering at GBMC now which I am excited about. Today's appointment went well. Grayson's heartrate sounded really good and everything else seems to be in line. My only...yet huge....vent is their stupid scale!!! According to IT, I've gained eight pounds in the past TWO weeks!!! This is ludicrous and I'm pretty sure...IMPOSSIBLE. Considering the fact that up 'til now I've only gained a total of 7 lbs this entire pregnancy, it seems hardly likely that I would gain 8 lbs in 2 weeks and not notice. So as of now...I'm not counting weight gain...unless I can somehow get to my old doctors office and find out how much I REALLY weigh.

Anyway, in other news...Weston is doing awesome. Not walking yet but getting around just the same. We celebrated his first easter which was so much fun! I'll have to get around to posting his picture with the easter bunny! It's the cutest ever. We spent the day with family. Nothing too exciting but it was nice to see my sister and the rest of my family.

Fifth Prenatal Appointment and First Word!

I had my fifth prenatal appointment the other day. It was the last with my current doctor. As of April 1st, our insurance had to change to Kaiser Permanente. I am now on the hunt for another doctor. Anyway, my appointment went well. I gained another 4 lbs. My blood pressure and baby's heart rate was good. She measured my belly but didn't tell me how long it was. Dr. Hoffman is so awesome, I'm really going to miss her!

Weston also had a doctors appointment this week. His last with Carroll Children's Center. Also sad about that. He weighs only 18 lbs 3 oz. That makes him in the 10th percentile for weight. My tiny boy! He is 28 1/2 inches long, which makes him in the 60th percentile for height. Doctor says he's doing great! I love when they ask me about stranger anxiety, all the while he's laughing and talking to the nurse and doctor....strangers! It's pretty clear there's no anxiety at all there! I told Dr. Chung that I gave Weston an egg already...I was sure I would be scolded but he said that it was no big deal!

Weston also said his first word! It was "mama"!  I will record the day being yesterday, April 3rd, since that's the first time Mike heard him say it and he's been saying it loud and clear since then! We're working on "dada" now!

More updates later! :)

Mike felt the baby move!!

Last night, Mike felt the baby move for the first time. I love noting this things down! It's awesome because he also felt Weston move at 21 weeks! Speaking of Weston, I would just like to record what he ate yesterday....He had some Ponsit, a ring pop, mashed potatoes and ice cream (Cake Batter from Coldstone). Seems that my little man has quite an adult appetite! I'm just glad he'll eat something. He does not want his baby food anymore besides the cereal and fruit (which he also had yesterday, along with his formula.) Anyway, he's nine months and probably in a week when we go to the doctor, I will get in trouble for already giving him an egg, banana nut cheerios and yogurt! I don't care though! He doesn't have any allergies and he's eating so that's all that matters to me!

Sonogram Appointment

Yesterday was our mid-pregnancy sonogram appointment and everything looks great! Most importantly the baby was able and willing to show us proudly that he is, in fact, a BOY! I got to take home so many pictures. The baby is right on target as far as growth. His heart rate was 166, seems soda jumps it up a bit (I had some cream soda before the sonogram!) He weighs about 13 oz right now which is awesome! It's so crazy to imagine that this little 13 oz human being has all these people parts already! God truly is the most amazing designer ever! So we are going to have a little Grayson (still deciding on the middle name) come August (or July probably). So that's the news on this pregnancy for now. More updates in two weeks when I go back for my next prenatal appointment.

P.S. I don't know if I mentioned it yet, but the blood work that was taken at my last appointment came back A-OK!

I will be taking pictures of our new living room and posting them. We just finally completed putting things together and cleaning up! I love it! Lots of play area for Weston. We still need to mount the TV on the wall but we have to call DirectTV and get a cable extension first. Hopefully that won't take forever and costs a million dollars!

On another good note...I'm so excited about the weather getting better! I cannot wait to take Weston outside to play! He hates being cooped up here in the house and I think my days will be much easier if he has other things to do!

Baby Dos-Appointment #4

Yesterday we had appointment no. 4 for Baby Dos and saw Dr. Hoffman. Baby's heart rate was 147 so I'm guessing it was the Sprite last time that made it 166. :) I had my blood drawn for the screening test and will get those results in about 10 days. And I've gained 5 pounds this past month. So altogether, with the 3 pound loss, I've only gained 2 pounds in the first 18 weeks of my pregnancy which is pretty awesome! So everything is looking really good! On a sort of sad note, Mike's work may be switching insurance to Kaiser Permanente which means that I will have to switch doctors in the middle of my pregnancy which really sucks because I absolutely adore my doctors. I'm sure I'll live though and the decision isn't final yet. The good thing is that I can squeeze in one more appointment with Hoffman and Associates and I will still get to keep my sonogram appointment on March 20th since the change won't happen until April. So more updates on that later! :)

Moving, Crawling and Teething

Some exciting things have been happening around the Ferrante household. First of all, I have begun feeling Baby Dos move. This happened last week in my 16th week of pregnancy. I believe I felt Weston moving around Week 17. It's just little flutters right now but I know for sure that it's our little Baby Dos. Today Dos was moving a lot. I'm sure it had to do with the sugary donuts and (decaf) coffee! I can't help but smile to myself every time it happens. It's truly a miracle.

Another exciting thing that has occurred is Weston is crawling now! It's turned him into this new little baby. I can't believe how big he's getting. I honestly didn't think he would be crawling already since he didn't rock too much but lo and behold he's getting around just fine now. He's getting braver too. We've been at a ministers retreat all week and he's just crawling to people he's never met before. I love that he's such a people person. Now he has about 5 months to begin walking :) I mean, I really don't want him to grow up to fast but I don't think it will be much fun carrying two babies around.

Also, Weston is finally teething. He has two teeth coming in on the bottom. Teething has not turned him into a little monster. He actually tolerates the pain very well. If we give him Tylenol, it's usually just at night to help him sleep if the pain is too much. With the teeth comes more food! He's beginning to eat Cheerios without choking to death and he love Graduate Puffs. In fact, he pretty much loves ANY food. I'm gonna say he gets that from his daddy.

Things on the upcoming calender....a trip to Boston, just me and Mike. My sister Fawne is coming to watch Weston. It's only for two nights so I think I'll...I mean Weston will be alright. I know it's going to be hard to leave him but I think it's really important for Mike and I to get away and have some time alone before Baby Dos gets here. We are also going to be getting new furniture soon...so exciting...for real, I'm really excited. We are going to finally have a little play area for Weston instead of having his toys all over the floor. We also have a Pack N Play on the way so we need to make room for that as well. My mom is moving out the first weekend of March. So for the first time in almost two years, Mike and I will have the house to ourselves (and the little ones of course!) Anyway, I think that's about all for now. I have another prenatal appointment on March 5th (one day after my birthday!) so I'll be updating again soon.

Third Appointment

Today was our third prenatal appointment. I'm going to make this short and sweet as not too much happened. I didn't gain any weight. Fine with me and the doctor. As long as I'm not losing...which shouldn't happen since Weston is completely weaned. The most exciting part was that we got to hear the baby's heartbeat! 166 bpm! Dr. Phillips said that's in girl range! But then she said, unless I had a lot of sugar that morning, which I did sip on a little Sprite...It's only a old wives tale anyway. I'm going to make my sonogram appointment this afternoon. It will probably be on March 20th. I can't wait!! :) Anyway, that's about all for now! Til next time! :)
